Before our drive to Prague, we stopped in the Aldstadt of Weiden again to have breakfast.
They put blankets out in the chilly weather so patrons can be comfortable....!!!
We had a little room all to ourselves....which was great with the boys :)
Aren't they AWESOME?!!!
WOW. Antipasti, fruit and quiche on the bottom, scrambled eggs and tomato/mozzarella crepes in the center, and toppings for the basket of rolls on top. That's freshly squeezed orange juice in front of me...I felt HIGHLY pampered!
The drive to Prague: notice that the lingo looks different?
We found ourselves at a "littler neighborhood" Easter Market...next to one of the "smaller" churches:
There were little "cannabis" incense sticks at this booth.....didn't think I'd make it through customs....ah, well....
The dough is wrapped around the heated metal cylinder, then something yummy, like Nutella, is spread on the inside...
Tucker liked it :)
I tried the yummy rice pudding, topped with plums, brown sugar and butter....:):):)
We made our way back to the car after this little serendipitous side jaunt, and drove to St. Charles' Bridge and parked. Then we walked to "THE" Easter Market:
Heading into the crowded alleyway to the market place...
There are booths with food, beautiful handiwork, toys, and most of all....EGGS.
A little petting pen with a hog of a pony...
Walking back to the bridge from the marketplace while there is still good light.
The Vltlava River
Here is a photo I found on the internet...all the bridges are so beautiful!
We walked partway across the St. Charles Bridge...
This is what it looks like with no one one it, facing the opposite direction...back toward the Easter Market...
Sure has been a blast travelling with these crazies!
"Little Rabbit Foo Foo, hopping through the forest, scooping up the field mice and whackin' 'em on the head.....Down came the Good Fairy; and she said, "Little Rabbit Foo Foo, I don't want to see you scoopin' up the field mice and whackin' 'em on the head....I'll give you THREE chances, and if YOU don't beHAVE.....I'll turn you into a GOOOOON!"
One more stop before the airport....St Vitus Cathedral and Prague Castle at the top of the hill....incredibly imposing and beautiful in the setting sun.
The was some huge state event going on; lots of black cars and military escorts and formally dressed people making their way to the large lit windows on the right, that are full of chandeliers....pretty sure they used this place in the movie Amadeus.
One walks through a stone archway and gazes up to this....wow.
And a few minutes later...this.
After a pizza stop in the dark in some strange Prague neighborhood pub (What did we do before GPS?), I was dropped off, with lots of hugs and kisses, at the Prague Airport, to wait for the night until my 6:30 am departure....it was actually quite comfortable :):):)
