Bike Ride to the Gym

Okay, I'm just warning you now, there are gonna be a lot of bike ride posts and scenery pictures, especially in a month or so when the trees start turning, so saddle up!

This is the cool bridge that spans the Connecticut River that I ride on to get to my gym.

Looking south.....

Looking north...

Another southward view further across the bridge...

Another northward view further across the bridge:

The town is right below this huge granite cliff.
A closer look at the bridge detail:

Crossing the tracks looking north....

And south....this reminds me of "Fried Green Tomatoes"!

After crossing the bridge and the tracks, I come to a "T" intersection, and that's my little gym, run by a white-haired woman in her 60s.  I have a swipe card that I use to get in.

There's my eliptical...it's a good workout.

Heading home...check out the "tractor warning" sign lol.

Everything is green.....shades of Germany!

Someone is mowing hay.

Guess his truck doesn't fit...

This is a horn worm. It eats tomatoes.  It has a pretty design though.

A Lovely Day With Sam and Karen

Kayaking on Granite Lake; that's Karen up ahead....

...and there is Sam with Millie riding along; Sam's right arm is currently unuseable due to a work injury, so his family installed an electric motor on his kayak....pretty cool.

At the island.

Millie loves the water!
!

Heading back to the landing.
The big inflatable thing behind Karen reminds me of "The Blob" in Heavyweights.

Relaxing on the porch and snacking on freshly picked blueberries.
I love Karen's geraniums--she has a great green thumb!

The granite posts from a pre-existing fence, I'm assuming.

To end the day, we travelled to Brattleboro, to this great eatery.

I love the creative way they've displayed the menu choices!

It was a memorable day---thanks, S&K!!

Flea Market!!!

The second weekend (my orientation week at Dartmouth Hitchcock was great! I love my unit...more about that later...) there was a flea market going on in Orford.  There are a lot of flea markets around, but this one was a big one.  Before we went to it, Karen and I went to the nearby town of Bradford, Vermont to this store: Farmway.  It is kind of like LLBean and Cabelas, It was really fun--I got a pair of bright orange sneakers to go bike-riding with.

There was a gift shop as well with all sorts of fancy dishware; they even carry Polish pottery at an insanely expensive price. (No, I did not get any.)

After Farmway, we picked up Sam at the farm and had lunch at the Whippi Dip. Here's the menu:

...And here's my lobster roll w/sweet potato fries!!! Heavennnnnn.

On to the flea market at Orford Common: the rest of the photos are of things I thought were interesting, and I've found that photographing stuff relieves my need to feel like I want to buy something....I am so proud that I didn't spend any money here!

Old fashioned potty training???

I thought this was a cool use of old license plates.

People in NH/Vermont are way more politically vocal than Utahns, it seems.

This one made me think of Tyler....

Can you guess which one I would pick?

Loved this portrait!

This guy makes airplanes out of soda cans.  I am having him make me a Diet Dr. Pepper plane.  Any requests?

Thought of Dewy when I saw this:
