Berry Picking With Lizzie

There was a day where I was babysitting my great-niece Lizzie, and decided to drive down River Road about 1/2 mile to the blueberry farm.  We had a fun couple of hours picking blueberries.

There were no attendants at the blueberry farm; it was the honor system :)

Heading back home down the hill toward this charming covered bridge.

Dessert that evening: !!!

Sorry, Zoe, I'm not sharing....

Hijinx With Robin

The Christopherson Family and the Johnson Family have known each other since long before I was born. Here are Robin and me in our swimming finery on the lovely Swanzey Lake beach.

Robin and James treated me to a wonderful evening! Dinner at The Pearl Restaurant and Oyster Bar in Peterborough, and then Pygmalion performed by the Peterborough Players in their beautiful country theatre!

The Peterborough Playhouse is located in a beautiful forest setting.

I love the interior of this theater! The lights, the large crossbeams.....Hi James!

Following the performance, Robin and James graciously invited me to spend the night at their home. The apartment over the garage in which Robin's mother Muget (one of Grandma Johnson's closest friends) lived is so charming that I had to take photos! I love the colors and patterns and decor!

James gave me a tour of his historical military collection, which was amazing. It included many mementos from past wars; he and Cory would most likely disappear into this particular man cave for hours!

After breakfast (love the stoneware!) I was treated to a tour of the barn, which serves as a great gathering place--

Across from the barn are a couple of James' cool vehicles.

I had a wonderful time with great friends!

The N.H. League of Craftsmen's Fair

This event was held at the base of Mt. Sunapee Ski Area, about 1/2 way between Keene and Orford. I photographed only a tiny fraction of the different kinds of art created that were displayed and for sale; many of the artists did not take kindly to having their work photographed. Anyway, Sam and Karen met me there and we looked around:

The black pot below is a kiln for pottery.

I thought these sculptures were pretty cool.

I love this artist's work! So fanciful and colorful.

Made of pieces of rolled paper.

I said out loud: "Sid must be here!" when I saw this.

There were 10 tents with at least 20 artists in each tent, with jewelry, handwoven fabrics, leather work, glass work, wood work...you name it.  It was a nice day.
